Flyer and Poster Design
In the modern internet age most people forget that the good old fashioned methods of marketing still work. Two of the most effective remain flyers and posters. These are a cost effective way to get information about your product in front of customers. While there are a lot of similarities between the two there are also some pretty important differences. Regardless of what you are selling you should include flyers and posters as a part of your marketing campaign.
When you are designing flyers the big thing that you are going to have to think about is cost. Depending on the quality of paper that is used and the amount of color that you put into your design the cost can vary enormously. In some cases it may be a good idea to go for the higher priced flyers while in others it just may not be cost effective. This is why you need the assistance of somebody who has experience with marketing with flyers; they will be able to advise you on when the higher price is necessary and when it isn't.
The other big thing when it comes to flyer design is that you have to get people to read them. A flyer can be a great way to get information about your product out there to the consumer, but you have to do it in the right way. If your flyer is not compelling it is going to end up in the garbage, you have to give people a reason to read your flyer. In large part this is going to be about a well designed flyer and good sales copy. It can be a challenge to do this so you are going to want to make sure that your designer is experienced specifically in flyers.
Designing posters is another matter altogether, in this case you are going to have to be able to grab people's attention. So try to find an experienced designer who can produce exactly what you want. People see lots of posters every day and for the most part they just ignore them. You have to be able to design a poster that they are actually going to pay attention to. In this case you really aren't going to want to use the budget option; you will want quality paper and lots of color.
The other big thing about designing a poster is that you are going to have to pass on the required information in a very small amount of space. Realistically a short catchy headline and a picture are going to make up most of your poster. That means that the part where you offer information is going to be very limited. That means that you are going to have to be able to sell your product in a very few words. This takes some real marketing skill so again you will need to find somebody with experience in advertising with posters.
